“So I have an idea. I’ve been thinking about what happened at Chloe’s office.” Scott sat on the couch and waited for Nicole to follow him. She still stood in the kitchen on the other side of the counter. “Can you come sit over here so we can talk?”
“No.” Nicole’s cheeks flushed. “I have an erection, and it won’t go away.”
Scott laughed. “What happened?”
Nicole tilted her head and looked at him.
“What did you see that gave you a boner?” He walked across the room, trying to get a better look.
“Don’t say that word. It’s so juvenile.” She grimaced as if she’d tasted something bitter.
Scott cracked a smile. He couldn’t resist. “What? Boner?”
Nicole reached across the counter and swatted at him, but he ducked out of the way. “Shut up. What am I supposed to do? Should I take a cold shower? I’ve heard that helps.”
Scott shook his head. “No. The only thing that will make it really go away is to take care of it.” He mimed jerking off and then laughed when Nicole’s face twisted with disgust.”
“I told you. I respect you too much to corrupt your body.” She crossed her arms over her chest.
“I’m giving you permission.”
“I don’t want it.” She stomped her foot like a petulant child.
He chuckled and held his hands up defensively. “Fine. Can we talk about my idea now?”
“Yes.” Nicole gripped the edge of the counter, holding her position hiding behind it.
“Okay, you know how we were doing that visualization thing?”
“Right, so I think we should try to do the same thing. Take my hands.”
She wouldn’t let go of the counter.
“Don’t be so stubborn. Take my hands.” He reached a little farther and then nodded when she took them. “Okay, now we need to imagine we’re on a beach.” He squeezed his eyes shut. “Crashing waves, soft sand under our feet.” His eyelids started to ache from forcing them shut.
Nicole sighed. “It’s not working. Is it working for you?”
“No.” A smile crept up on his face. “Maybe your boner has something to do with it.”
Nicole jerked her hands out of his and sighed. “Why do you always have to ruin everything? This isn’t a joke!”
“I’m not ruining anything! I came all the way out here to try and fix this mess.”
“And now you’re blaming me for not being able to concentrate. Nice. You’re a jerk, Scott. I think you should leave.”
