Omega Team Book One

Grey Holden was on a mission to find the source of illegal arms. The death of his best friend on a compromised mission left him filled with anger and dedicated to bringing down whoever was responsible.

Athena Madero had her own mission, to take down a major politician who had been preying on young girls for a long time. She hated him enough to quit her job as a cop and go on her own hunt for evidence.

When she and Grey crossed paths, chemistry sparked and suddenly, unexpectedly, shockingly, there was a lot more between them than searching for evidence and pinning down a traitor.

In a split second, they were riding the raw edge of danger. Together.

Raw Edge of Danger Excerpt:
Finally reaching his target, he used an electromagnetic device to disable the alarm system, the cameras, and the sensors. He was sure Bostic was convinced he’d bought the very best in electronic protection, but there was a way around anything. Grey was an expert in finding whatever those were. He skirted the back door, sure it would have a chain in addition to other locks. The den had a sliding glass door leading out to a patio. He took his phone from his pocket and scrolled through his files until he pulled up the floor plan of the house. When he’d studied the blueprints at the county building, he’d not only photographed them but also memorized them. Now he was just double checking to make sure he knew where to go.

This looked like the best point of entry, although the senator had to be pretty dumb—or too confident of his security system—not to use a room closed on all sides. He slid the door open noiselessly and eased himself just as quietly inside.

The house was dark, so he clicked on a tiny penlight, cupping his hand around it just in case, and began looking around the room. This would be the most logical place Bostic would keep records of his illegal dealings. People like him always kept records, thinking to use them for blackmail if necessary.

Sure enough, he found it in a far corner of the room, behind a sliding panel with a concealed switch. But nothing hid from him. Holding the penlight between his teeth, he took out his tools and began to decipher the combination to the safe. He just about had it open when a whisper of sound alerted him to the opening of the slider again. Someone else in the den.

Fuck!

Who else had taken advantage of tonight to break into this house? And why? Was someone else after the same information? It wasn’t impossible, but what an unlucky coincidence that whoever it was should pick the same night he did to look for it.

In all of the quiet investigating he’d done, he hadn’t heard of anyone else after the politician, but then, of course, if they were any good, he wouldn’t have. Still, it seemed an unlikely coincidence that whoever this was would have chosen this exact night to do some scouting. How had they gotten into the house? Had they seen him, caught him disabling the security? They’d have to have some pretty sophisticated equipment themselves or be pretty damn sharp.

He wedged himself into a corner of the den to the side of the sliding glass door and waited for whoever it was to slip into the room.

Mission Control
Mission Control
by Desiree Holt
Omega Team Book Two

Krista (Kris) Gauthier and Mason Rowell are like oil and water from the moment they meet.

He never expected the team from Mission Control, the security agency made up of former military, to send a woman to lead the team he hired to fix his problem: find out who is helping smugglers cross his land from the border.

Their antagonism is only heightened by the sexual attraction that keeps blazing out of control.

Neither of them is happy about the fact they keep falling into bed together and Mason, who values his unattached existence, can’t wait for the team to be finished and Kris to be gone.

But when the bad guys are identified and caught and Kris is wounded in the process, the thought of losing her nearly destroys him, and makes him take another look at their relationship.

Note: This story originally appeared in the DangerZone box set. New material has been added, and it has been newly edited.

Mission Control Excerpt:
Finally, the door on the other side of the chopper opened. The pilot leaped down to the ground and came around to greet Mason.

Who nearly had a heart attack.

Holy fucking shit. This was the team leader? Was this a joke of some kind?

Standing in front of him was not the tough leader he’d expected, well-muscled and a hardened veteran of the battles in the sandbox. Instead, he stared at the woman who’d burned up his sheets in that hotel room a year ago. The one who wouldn’t stay out of his dreams or his memory. The one he considered his omen of bad luck.

Although her sunglasses partially obscured her face, there was no mistaking the delicate jawline or the body he’d explored every inch of. Lithe and slender, she came nearly to his shoulder. A Mission Control T-shirt fell softly against rounded breasts his hands had cupped and kneaded. Worn jeans clung to nicely curved hips and long, slender legs. High cheekbones highlighted an oval a face and a mouth with full lips—a face he knew he’d never forget and lips he could still taste, even after all this time. She still wore her aviator shades, so he couldn’t see her eyes, but yeah, that was definitely a ponytail hanging from the back of her cap. Luxurious sable hair that he’d run his fingers through. Hair that had drifted over his belly when she—

Stop it!

Would she remember him? The sunglasses hid any expression on her face, but he didn’t miss the way she came to an abrupt halt or the sudden stiffness of her posture. Oh, yeah, she knew who he was and was just as shocked. For an endless moment, neither of them spoke.

Lethal Design Excerpt:
The air whooshed out of his lungs.

Fuck! Double fuck!

Sitting at the round table with his bosses was the woman whose presence had hit him like a zap of electricity the first time he saw her.

“One of these days,” his commanding officer had told him when he’d had trouble after the last mission, “you’ll meet a woman who can melt those walls around you and give meaning to life again.”

“Never gonna happen,” he’d insisted.

“Never say never,” the man had warned then smiled. “You deserve someone to make you realize you’re flesh and blood human. I’ll be sending you good thoughts. You’re a good soldier, Owen, and a damn fine man. I want the best for you.”

After that night, the man’s words played over and over in his head. He’d wished over and over he’d gotten her name. Her phone number. Anything. The images of them together filled his head and kept him sane on many a treacherous night.

And now here she sat.

He stared at her, remembering every inch of her small yet curvy body. The jeans and oversized sweatshirt she wore couldn’t hide the lush dips and swells he remembered. Her mane of blonde hair he remembered tumbling around her shoulders and brushing his chest and abdomen she now had pulled back into a severe ponytail. Her eyes were still the same shade of iridescent green, so amazing they dominated her face. Her skin he’d missed every inch of held the translucent quality of a pearl, and, even without lipstick, her mouth called for attention.

He felt as if he’d been poleaxed, his breath trapped in his lungs but his cock threatening to break out of his fly. Emotions he had long thought dead and buried tried to claw their way up from oblivion.

Damn it all, anyway. How could he take a job when the client had given him the best night of his life and she’d be better off without him? Right now, he wanted to throw her on his bed and ravish her for hours then lock them both away against the outside world.

Not good. Not good at all.

He was sure the look on his face matched hers—stunned and dumbfounded.

He would have turned tail and run except he hadn’t moved fast enough. Athena’s voice drifted out from the room and skewered him.

“There you are,” she called. “Come on in and meet our newest client.”

He waited for the woman to say something, but when she didn’t, he just walked into the break room. Their eyes caught and held for a moment, but still she remained silent. What did that mean?
