Men of Falcon Pointe Book One
Trent Farnsworth moves to Falcon Pointe to get as far away from his controlling family and religion as he can. While his conservative upbringing makes it hard for Trent to admit he’s gay, he accidentally outs himself in front of his four new roommates. None of the men living at 959 Brenton Street are what the world would consider normal, but all four accept him for who he is. And when Trent falls for his much older landlord, Dr. Cory Venerin, he’s as surprised as anyone, but discovering Cory feels the same makes Trent realize he’s truly in the right place at the right time.
Until he tells his family he’s gay. His father uses any resource at his disposal to destroy him, including Trent’s love for Cory. As his father schemes to send Trent to a hospital whose sole purpose is to rip the gay out of him, Cory battles to save not only Trent—but also the possibility of a future together.

Cory walked in, dressed in black jeans and a jade button-down shirt that brought out his eyes. “How do you like the house?” he asked in his quiet, sure voice as he picked up a muffin and sat in the armchair next to Trent.
“It’s nice. It feels like home.”
Cory smiled. “That was my idea for it. I wanted it to feel like home without having flowers and knickknacks everywhere.”
Lowering his voice while David, Alan, and Greg were busy teasing one another, Trent asked, “How much is rent?”
“The room is three hundred a month plus one fifth of the utilities, which can run anywhere from fifty during fall and spring to two hundred in summer or winter. There’s no landline, so you will need to get your own cell phone. We split the Wi-Fi service, which is very fast, even if we’re all using it at the same time. You’ll need to park on the street or rent one of the garages about three blocks down. They’re about seventy a month, I believe. In the past, we’ve had renters who wanted to buy their own food, and you can do that. Or the rest of us go equally in on it and split up the cooking/cleaning chores between us. Realistically you’re looking at around a thousand a month when everything is added up.”
That was actually a relief. His dorm room was twelve hundred a month plus board. “That’s definitely doable. How long of a lease?” Trent wondered if he could leave if things didn’t work out.
“I ask for a two-month grace period to make sure it works for all of us. At that point, if we want you to stay and you like it here, it will be a twelve-month lease.” Leaning over, Cory picked up a couple muffins and
Greg looked over and beamed. “Thanks.”
“So, what do ya think?” Alan asked, and popped a piece of muffin into his mouth.
“Well, unless you haven’t told me something really scary, the place looks great to me,” Trent said.
David laughed. “What? An intersex, bisexual, gay, and cross-dresser household isn’t scary enough?”
Trent grinned as heat flooded into his cheeks. He took a bite of the muffin to avoid answering.
Cory cleared his throat. “Have you told him all?” Something about the final word made Trent look from one to another, especially as both Alan and David began looking everywhere but at him. “I can see not. I assume you didn’t show him the room?” They both shook their heads quickly.
Cory stood up and left the room, his footfalls a staccato beat on the stairs.
“Damn,” David said, grimacing. “I was kind of hoping to let you know about this later on. I mean, hell, you’ve just come out today. That should be enough of a shock.”
“What?” he asked nervously, beginning to wonder what they hadn’t told him. What the hell could they be covering up?
“Uh, this house is….” Alan said.
“Discipline based,” Greg filled in, handing him another muffin.
“What does that mean?” he asked. He took the sweet confection and nibbled on the corner.
“It means we keep to the rules or we come to a meeting with a very hard paddle,” David said wryly as Cory came down the stairs carrying in his hand what looked like a small breadboard. “Meet the enemy.”
They couldn’t possibly mean what he thought they meant. They were all grown men. Surely nobody paddled anyone else. That was… barbaric. He widened his eyes as he crossed one leg over the other. And a turn-on apparently. What kind of freak was he, anyway?

The first few days went quite well. Daniel was good natured and as he worked through the pain, spent most of his time in the living room chatting with Phillip when he was home. He learned quite a bit about him. That he loved to snowboard was a definite plus. They made tentative plans for once the ski resorts were open to go hit the slopes. During the day, he was at work, in the evening it was a pleasure to come home to someone.
Someone who stole his cat, he thought with amusement. His second day there, Phillip came home to find Mafdet curled up next to the guy in his bed, purring away. Danny seemed more amused by the cat than anything. And Phillip should have expected it, but he didn’t. He nicknamed the cat Muffy. She even came when that name was called. Hell, she followed Daniel around the house like a puppy, albeit a puppy that insisted he scratch her in her timeframe.
On day four, one week after the accident, Phillip saw the first signs of resistance.
“I’m tired of taking meds,” Daniel said, glaring at the pill Phillip handed him. “I don’t need them anymore.”
“You’re in pain.”
“So?” The belligerent tone amused Phillip, which just seemed to annoy Daniel further.
“So, being in pain when you don’t have to, is silly.”
“So, what? I’m a silly, stupid kid now?” The tone was probably supposed to be pithy, but it ended on a break and Phillip sat beside him as he wiped his eyes.
“No,” he said firmly. “You’re not silly, nor stupid. And you are definitely not a kid. I told you I was a stickler for making sure you became well again.”
“Yeah,” Danny said with a pout. “I thought…nothing.” He grabbed the pill and popped it into his mouth.
“You thought what?” Phillip asked, handing him a glass of water. It had been difficult being this close to someone he was attracted to and not act on it. But he didn’t want to take advantage. Plus, it had only been a week since the accident. And yet, damn if he didn’t want to pull the man into his arms and hold him until he felt better. Of course, when he became belligerent, Phillip also wanted to bend him over his knee and spank his tush. But that was a definite not-gonna-happen. There was no agreement, and from what he could tell, Danny didn’t want to talk about spanking in any shape or form.
Which could put a real wall between any possibility of a relationship. But he wasn’t going to bring any of that up yet. He would wait until Daniel was better. Then they could see where they were at.
Shaking his head, Danny chugged the full glass of water. “Nothing. I’m just achy which makes me smart off. And I wish my mo—” He closed his jaw so fast, Phillip heard the snap.
Putting his arm around the other man’s shoulders, he squeezed lightly. “What would your mother have done?”
Tears glistened in amber eyes. “She would have taken care of me. Fed me my favorite foods.” He let out a half laugh. “When I was a kid, I used to fake being sick sometimes just because she’d make my favorite dishes and just be with me. And now…” His lips trembled. “She doesn’t want anything to do with me at all. Just because… Just because…” Tears dripped down his cheeks.
“Give her time. Maybe she’ll come around,” Phillip said, hoping for Daniel’s case that his parents would see the error of their ways. It rarely happened, but he could hope.
A head leaned on his shoulder. “I don’t know what to do, Phillip.”
Unable not to, he pressed a kiss onto the top of Danny’s head. “Just know what you need to do today, Daniel. Try not to think too far ahead. Tell you what? Marcus said you could start getting out for short walks. Why don’t we do that tomorrow? Take a little walk through town.”
“Sounds good.” The voice was a little blurry, telling him that the pain meds were taking their toll.
“Rest, Daniel. Everything’ll get better. You’ll see.”
“Mmm,” was his only reply before deep breathing told him Danny was asleep.
Pulling him a little closer, Phillip closed his eyes. Not one to lie to himself, he recognized something he would have thought was impossible. His feelings for Daniel were deeper than he thought. The realization that in five weeks, he would be gone, in his own apartment, and back to work, hurt. The man had already squeezed himself into Phillip’s heart. “Now I truly know why everyone adores you,” he whispered.
He had five weeks to help heal Danny physically and mentally. Not only did he want him physically strong when he left, but he also wanted Daniel to be proud and out. Until then, he wouldn’t make a move. Yes, that was the gentleman within. Phillip would hold back his desires until the man in his arms had a firmer hold on who he was.
Arms curled around him as Daniel cuddled closer.
“Ah, hell.” Pulling out his phone, he quickly texted his mentor, Lionel Wetherton. Lion, I need your help.
